The Music Page

For most of my pre college years, I was in enrolled into piano lessons by my Mom. And while my piano teacher was really, she unfortunately didn't me much about music theory. So in college, I self taught myself a little bit of music theory and I also learned how to use FL Studio. I made couple songs, but like most things I make, I didn't finish them. But I do have couple that are mostly complete or are in a good enough state

"Joseph.mp3"

Naming a project after my name is a recurring thing I like to do. (Big ego)

As far as I'm aware, this is earliest song that I have that's mostly completed. It's meant to be desolate feeling and I like to imagine that I'm walking in a snowy forest or field while listening to this.

"Funky"

I LOVE arpeggios, It's the reason Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, 3rd Movement is one of my favorite piano songs. It was clear though that when I was making this song, all I had in mind was the arpeggios and nothing else. Although, according FL studio, I had apparently created an empty pattern for strings, but I guess ran out of ideas for them.

"The Carless Man's Strut"

I think this arguably is my most "complete" song (at the time of writing this). And holy shit that bassoon is loud. Trying to get the balance correct on this damn song is impossible (And I think it still dosen't sound good). The instruments here also do a lot of the carrying. Before I started using Kontakt Music Factory 2, the song sounded pretty gormless. I do love the xylophone solo, but I think it falls off at the end.

The drums and bass was inspired Gerhard Narholz's "Town Talk", and I'm pretty sure I stole the bass' melody from Toby Fox's "Hotel"
